I've been in several bookstores already, scanning on new books to read. Lately, everything seems to center on vampires or supernatural beings. I've finished the Percy Jackson series (in better timing than even the Harry Potter and Twilight books) and still craving for more. Reading, actually, calms me as well as my natural cure for insomnia. I happen to glance on a lady getting ready to buy the City of Ashes book (the 2nd book of the Mortal Instruments series) and casually asked her if the books were good. She was looking so happily (actually, dreamily) at me when she replied, 'Yes!'. She looked odd at the time so it took some guts for me to buy the 1st book, City of Bones. What started as a moment of doubt, turned into a rollercoaster of adventure. By the time I got around the 3rd book, City of Glass, reading couldn't cure my insomnia anymore! I couldn't tear myself away from the book even at work (you see, that's a very hard thing to do; not advisable as well). I was totally dragged into the lives of the Shadowhunters who are also called the Nephilim, demons and Downworlders (I didn't realize you'd get tongue-tied with that word).
I have told my sister to start reading the book and I advise everyone to do as well. Cassandra Clare, the author, is really an amazing storyteller like JK Rowling. As Stephenie Meyer says of the book, 'It is a beautiful world I love to live in.' Absolutely beautiful!
